David Miller is the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Brightway Insurance, one of the largest property and casualty insurance agencies in the country. With annual sales over $625 million Brightway has earned recognition from Forbes as the #1 Franchise to Buy in the U.S., from Entrepreneur Magazine as the No. 1 insurance franchise in the country, and from Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the country for nine years. Miller is passionate about creating positive outcomes that have positive results for multiple stakeholders. He calls this operating mandate “W Cubed,” (W 3), which stands for Win, Win, Win. All Brightway people—almost 1000 strong—embrace this as the way they do business.

Miller is an ongoing supporter of the United Way. He has served on their Board, led the Annual Tocqueville Campaign, served as the first Chair of the Stein Fellowship Program, and was the lead investor for Upstream. As an advocate for the LGBT community, Miller, along with Hugh Greene, were the lead investors in JASMYN’s 25 th anniversary, a series of events that spanned a year. Miller currently serves on the Senior Advisory Council for OneJax, and recently invested in the Sandy Miller Metrotown Institute, which brings youth from all over the city together to build character and develop future leaders. The program now bears the name of his mother who was instrumental in developing the program nearly 30 years ago. Over the years Miller has served on a number of other boards including Leadership Jacksonville, The Chamber of Commerce, The Jacksonville Civic Council, and Jewish Community Alliance, where he is a past president.

Working with other leaders to raise the bar is something that Miller is looking forward to. Currently, Miller is working with Brian Wolfburg, CEO of VyStar Credit Union to lead the effort to make the 30+ mile Emerald Trail around downtown a reality. And, working with Darnell Smith and other amazing leaders on Lift Jax to address poverty in our community. Miller’s family is at the center of his life. He and his wife Monique have two children, Josh and Leah.
